Preparing for Retirement: Refiring for the Next Phase

“Preparing for Retirement: Refiring for the next phase” is a four-day, faculty-led pre-retirement programme delivered through a hybrid model at Lagos Business School. It brings together LBS faculty across finance, strategy and entrepreneurship to work with participants on the practical and personal sides of leaving full-time corporate life.

Sessions combine short faculty-led lectures, case discussion and structured personal-planning exercises. Participants do not leave ideas alone each person works toward a written personal transition plan covering finances, options for continued income or venture-building, and family and legacy considerations.

• Corporate executives and senior managers within one to five years of retirement.

• Public sector officials and civil servants are preparing to exit service.

• Organisations that want to offer a structured pre-retirement benefit to long-serving staff

• Professionals are already retired but still shaping their next chapter.

• Spouses and partners of retiring executives, where a sponsoring organisation chooses to extend the invitation
